Vacuum manufacturer Dyson will today unveil a new product in the USA. This will be Dyson’s first product launch since the Dyson Fan, the ground-breaking Air Multiplier Fan which first hit the shops in 2009.

The iconic Dyson brand are being tight lipped about the nature of the new product with rumours rife. However it is believed that the new device will not be a Vacuum, Hand Dryer or Fan.

Perhaps James Dyson’s company will now move into the Heating industry. With winter around the corner perhaps this would be a great time to launch a portable Heater from Dyson Heating. No doubt if this is the direction that Dyson find themselves moving then a potential new Dyson Heater or Dyson Heaters will be stylish and well-engineered pieces of industrial design.

The Trianco range of EuroStar oil boilers now includes Band A rated (Sedbuk 2005) high efficiency models which feature specially matched ‘Riello’ burners and offer ‘whisper quiet’ operation with excellent efficiencies of over 90%.

EuroStar models encompass internal ‘heating only’ models for kitchen or utility room installations, ranging in output from 14.6kW to 70kW and also ‘combi’ versions of up to 26kW for internal or external installation.

Servicing is facilitated via a panel on the front of all models allowing installation under standard height work surfaces. The baffle system and secondary heat exchanger cool the products of combustion so that latent heat, usually lost through the flue, is returned to the system to enhance energy performance while reducing CO2 and NOx emissions.

Boiler Installation is simplified with pre-plumbed connections and simple electrics. A comprehensive range of flue accessories includes 600mm and 1000mm balanced flue terminals covering most wall thicknesses.

A comprehensive two year manufacturer’s warranty is offered with EuroStar backed by a nationwide network of dedicated engineers. The boilers main heat exchanger is offered with a five year warranty.

About Boilers

The capacity (heat output) of the Boiler needed to satisfy your requirements can be calculated by adding up the manufacturers specified heat output of all the radiators, plus a 3kW allowance for a hot water cylinder. Ten per cent is added to allow for exceptionally cold weather. The overall calculation is affected by the heat lost through the walls and ceiling, and also by the number of air changes caused by ventilation.

Central Heating Boilers provide warmth and comfort to any home. There are many different types of boiler on the market by lots of different boiler manufacturers. Boilers can be Gas Boilers, Oil Boilers, Solid Fuel Boilers or Electric Boilers. Nowadays, most boilers are high efficiency Condensing Boilers. Condensing boilers extract more heat from the fuel than other types of boiler. Condensing boilers achieve this by passing water through a highly efficient heat exchanger, or a second heat exchanger that uses heat from the flue to preheat cool water returning to the radiators. There are various types of boiler available.

Combination boilers or Combi Boilers provide both hot water to a sealed system and a seperate supply of instant hot water directly to taps and showers. Advantages of combi boilers are ease of installation, space-saving and economy. A heating only boiler is in most instances the most likely boiler to buy if you are replacing an older model of boiler. The chances are that you will have a regular (conventional) boiler. A typical conventional system includes a boiler and extended controls, a feed and expansion cistern, and a hot water cylinder, generally located in an airing cupboard. This will be fed by a cold water storage cistern located in the loft.

A system boiler unlike a combi boiler, work on the principle of stored hot water. However a system boiler differs from a regular boiler in some important respects. Firstly, many of the major individual components of the heating and hot water system are built in, which means that installation is quicker, neater, easier and more efficient. Secondly, the hot water is pumped from the boiler through the system to the radiators and hot water cylinder, resulting in a fast response and more economical running costs. The system boiler removes the need for a feed and expansion cistern.

We recently discovered these amazing black and white photographs from the vaults of our parent company Bumford Heating Limited.

Although the photos have no date we think that they were taken in the early eighties. Of all the plumbers on the pictures, one still remains with Bumford Heating.

The photos were taken at our old premises on Millhouses Street, Hoyland, Barnsley as part of a publicity shoot for a local newspaper. The site is now the location for a complex of modern houses and apartments.

Here is a shot of our old Fireplace showroom. Because we were located in a coal mining area we stocked a wide range of solid fuel spare parts.
