The company sets technical standards and its broad product portfolio encompasses the fields of radiators, towel warmers, fan convectors, underfloor heating and valves. As a result of constant innovation in the area of energy efficiency and unique design concepts, Myson products are enthusiastically received by planners and heating engineers, as well as by the users of the rooms which are heated.

Whatever your choice of heat source, Myson can supply heat emitters that will work efficiently and reliably with your system. You can trust Myson and BHL to help you identify the best heat emitters for your needs. Energy efficient heating systems require effective temperature control.

  • Myson Radiators - The hot water from a central heating boiler is pumped along small bore pipes connected to Myson Radiators, mounted at strategic points to heat individual rooms and hallways. The standard Myson radiator is a double-skinned pressed metal panel, which is heated by the hot water that flows through it. Despite its name, a Myson Radiator emits only a fraction of its output as radiant heat, the rest being delivered by natural convection as the surrounding air comes into contact with the hot surfaces of the Myson Radiator. The Myson range includes; Low Surface Temperature Rad, Premier, Decor, Select, Column and the Finesse Electric Radiator.
  • Myson Towel Warmers - are a certain type of radiator that are gneerally designed to dry towels in bathrooms and kitchen. However, in the past decade the popularity of Myson Towel Rails has increased dramatically and is now a standard item in most UK bathrooms. Furthermore, with the increase in the production of larger sizes, Myson Towel Rails are increasingly installed in dining rooms and kitchens too due to their elegant and versatile look, as well as their ability to dry towels efficiently.
  • Myson Heaters - Myson produce a wide range of quality Electric Heaters and Fan Convectors. Manufactured in the UK by Myson, the Myson Heater range includes Plinth Heaters, Electric Wall Heaters and Electric Floor Heaters. Amongst the popular products include the Myson Kickspace and Myson Hi Line. Compact in size and suitable for use with heat pumps, Myson Heaters fan convectors and in some cases electric heaters give high outputs where space is limited. Accurate, responsive and controllable heat is ensured through integral thermostats on wall mounted products and a selection of fan speeds on plinth heater models.
  • Myson Valves -  is a device that regulates, directs or controls the flow of a fluid (gases, liquids, fluidised solids or slurries) by opening, closing, or partially obstructing various passageways. Myson Valves are technically pipe fittings, but are usually discussed as a seperate category. Myson Valves may be operated manually (Matchmate, Matchmaster and Fullflow), either by a handle, level or pedal. Myson Valves may also be automatic, driven by changes in pressure, temperature or flow such as a TRV (Decorative TRV, Petite, TRV 2 Way and Commercial TRVs).

Products such as the Myson Premier HE radiator, which has sold millions of units in the UK, the range of easy-to-install replacement radiators or the contemporary and traditional design towel warmers, as well as flexible underfloor heating systems. For our customers at BHL, the Myson brand is inextricably linked with outstanding technology.

Storage Heater is an electrical home appliance which stores thermal energy during the evening, or at night when base load electricity is available at a lower cost, and releases the heat during the day as required. Storage Heaters are usually used in conjunction with a two-tariff electricity meter, which records seperately the electricity used during the off-peak period so that it can be billed at a lower rate.

In order to enjoy the lower rates, the house must be on a special electricity tariff. In most countries, Storage Heaters are only economical (compared to other forms of heating) when employed with such a special tariff, in the United Kingdom, the Economy 7 tariff is appropriate.

Manual Storage Heaters usually have two controls – a charge control called input, which controls the amount of heat stored, and the draught control called output, which controls the rate at which the heat is released. These controls may be controlled by the user, or may operate automatically once the user selects the target room temperature on a thermostat.

Storage Heaters may also incorporate an electric heater, utilising either resistance heaters or heat pumps, which can be used to increase heat ouput. Such added heating is expensive, as it occurs during the high-tariff time of day.

Storage Heaters allow electrical heating, which is often more expensive than equivalent gas or oil fired heating systems, to be used without as much operating cost. If the Storage Heater is incorporated into the building’s floorplan, they take up less area than a gas or oil fired heating system. Users of gas central heating and some other systems often turn off the heating during the night as an economy measure, with the result that the house is cold at night and early morning, but because night Storage Heaters are on at night, the house is still warm at those times.

Automatic Storage HeatersThe damper may be pre-set to open automatically each day if required when using an Automatic Storage Heater. Setting the output control at settings other than minimum results in an automatic boost of heat. A high setting on the output control knob causes the damper to open early afternoon/evening, conversely a lower setting causes it to open later.  For a given setting of the output control, the colder the weather (and, consequently, the greater the charge taken automatically by the heater) the later the damper will open. Conversely, for a lower charge input (in milder weather) the earlier the damper will open for a given room’s temperature boost setting.

Combination Storage HeatersCombi Storage Heaters have a convector heater built into the unit, in addition to a standard storage heater system. it means that the Combi Storage Heater will be used to provide the bulk of the heat with instant top using the convector heater

Fan Storage HeatersFan Storage Heaters are sophisticated at using off peak electricity. Instead of automatically releasing the heat by convection the next day, a Fan Storage Heater incorporates a silent fan as the name suggests, which takes air through the heater and discharges it through the vent at the base of the heater at a time that suits the user, just like other storage heaters.

Panel Heater, also known as a radiant panel heater, produces heat by transfer of radiant heat, usually by infrared waves. They are lightweight, allowing the unit to be mounted easily and installed to radiate heat in any direction. There is virtually no decrease in the output of the Panel Heater as it agea. Due to the fact that about 80 percent of the energy is absorbed by the Panel material, there is a reduction in the cost required to run the unit. The back panel of the unit is also insulated to prevent heat loss.

In order for us at BHL to have up-to-date and relevant knowledge of the plumbing and heating industry to provide the customers with the correct and helpful assistance that they deserve, the sales team regularly partakes in product training sessions with leading manufacturers to get to grips and become hands on with the products that we are selling. In the past week, Smiths Environmental Products Ltd came to visit to introduce us to their range of fan convectors, in particularly their Ecovector range and Plinth Heaters.

Formed in 1991 Smiths Heater (Smiths Environmental Products Ltd) has grown to become the leading supplier of domestic and light commercial fan-assisted hydronic heat emitters. The complete product range is manufactured in-house in its specialist facilities in the UK.

Fan convectors, flame-effect fan convectors, natural convectors and fan-assisted electric heaters. Smiths Heater slowly have become the leading supplier of all these types of heat generators in the UK, including the revolutionary Ecovector range, Plinth Heaters and the Sterling wall-mounted fan convector. Energy is one of our most valuable resources, yet many of the appliances we use everyday are inefficient and use more energy than is absolutely necessary. Even if you are not yet fully convinced that reducing energy usage will help save the planet, it will certainly reduce your energy bills.

Here BHL’s Lee Camm, Neil, Pam and Chris brush up on the latest Smiths Heater products, including the Ecovector Plinth Heater.

If your are looking for energy efficiency and versatility in your heating, look no further than the Smiths Heater range of fan convectors, flame-effect fan convectors and natural convectors.

Smiths Ecovector is the next generation fan convector with elegant styling. The Smith’s Ecovector range includes the Smiths Ecovector Plinth Heater, Smiths Ecovector Low LevelSmiths Ecovector Vertical and Smiths Ecovector High Level. The Smiths Ecovector are very compact – half the width of an equivalent output standard radiator, and with water content only 5% that of an equivalent radiator. Fast, responsive, energy-efficient and very quiet in operation. Provides warmth from the floor upwards – the ideal heating pattern – but is more effective and energy efficient than either underfloor heating or conventional radiators. Manufactured in the UK using recyclable materials.

Smiths fan convectors require connection to a ‘wet’ central heating system and an electrical connection to run the fan. Hot water from the central heating system passes through the heat exchanger transferring its heat to the aluminium fins. Cooler air is drawn in by the fan and heated as it passes over the heat exchanger before being expelled gently back into the room. This gives a more even temperature and will heat a room in much less time than a traditional panel radiator. On average in domestic applications, the Smiths fan convectors use less than 2p (worth) of electricity per day.

However, even though the new range is available online at BHL, we still supply the traditional and original fan convectors from Smiths Heaters including; SurelineAward, Skyline and Caspian.
