Central heating systems more than likely run from a source when combustion is occurring and in order for there to be fire, you need heat, oxygen and fuel. As a result, most central heating boilers or open fire will run on either gas, oil or solid fuel, therefore it is essential that fuel is readily available for the system so that direct heat can be given to a property whenever it is required, without the worry of not having any fuel.

At BHL, we supply a wide range of Fuel Storage solutions which compliment central heating systems across the UK, which include a series of oil tanks for use with oil boiler from a range of different manufacturers and depending on purpose both single skinned and bunded oil tanks are available for use with a heating system.

Fuel Storage has been a fundamental part of central heating systems and indeed may other systems for many a year but now Fuel Storage solutions are now more practical and attractive than ever. For instance, take our range of coal bunkers, no longer do you need an unattractive looking concrete block in the outer recesses of your household with a variety of plastic and galvanised steel coal bunkers, which will be the perfect home for a neat and tidy place for Fuel Storage of coal.

Fuel Storage options are available in a wide range of sizes and can be built to suit exact specifications or requirements. Various forms of protection are available to utilise in conjunction with your Fuel Storage tank to help prevent and deter potential thieves and protect your storage facility.

With Fuel Storage, BHL also do a range of Grit Bins for in the winter. A Grit Bin is an item of outside furniture, commonly found in winter when freezing temperatures and snowfall occur where it may prove inconvenient or a nuisance for ice or snow to be laid on the floor. The Grit Bin holds a mixture of rock salt and grit which can be spread over roads, paths or driveways if they have snow or ice on them. A Grit Bin improves winter road safety, or the generally safety of people who are using paths that may be covered with ice, Grit Bins help prevent slipping or falling on ice by melting the ice.

Fuel Storage products are available to buy online from BHL. We supply a wide range of Fuel Storage products and online from leading manufacturers including; TitanAtlas and QSS.

Trianco prides itself on offering one of the most comprehensive ranges of heating products available on the market today. Under the renowned Trianco brand, the product portfolio consists of the newly launched ‘Newton’ range of multi fuel stoves, high efficiency oil, electric and solid fuel boilers, as well as a range of renewable products. Trianco also offers a variety of engineering solutions using the lastest machinery technology.

Trianco produce a wide variety of heating products varying from the hugely successful Aztec Classic range, the only electric central heating boilers on the market with a British Standards Kitemark. A Trianco Electric Boiler is a type of boiler where the steam is generated using electricity, rather than through the combustion of a fuel source. Electric Boilers although they are more expensive to run that gas-fired and oil-fired boilers, they are popular because of their simplicity and ease of use, as well as being almost 100% efficient.

Trianco are leading manufacturers of central heating products including a wide range of Trianco Oil Boilers. Trianco’s range of oil fired boilers include the impressive range of traditional floor standing boilers, Trianco also produce wall mounted oil boilers, external oil boilers, combination oil boilers and system oil boilers. The EuroStar range of high efficiency SEDBUK Band A oil boilers were introduced in January 2011 and proudly feature ‘specially matched’ Riello burners. Available in kitchen/utility and combi models, the range suits small to large properties, due to a wide range of outputs. Contractor non-condensing oil boilers are also available where legislation permits.

In addition to the Oil Boilers that Trianco produce, they have a new and improved range of Oil Storage Tanks. Trianco Oil Tanks are containers, used for holding liquid fuel such as oil. At the heart of any oil heating installation is an oil storage tank. When correctly installed and maintained, today’s Trianco Oil Tanks can provide many years of safe, secure and eviornmentally responsible fuel storage.

Trianco Activair air source heat pumps are the renewable product offering, renowned for being the most competitively priced range of ASHP’s on the market today and completing the portfolio is the long standing range of EuroStar solid fuel boilers and roomheaters.

With limited natural resources at our disposal, we all have to be even more conscientious. The world is constantly looking for effective ways of reducing waste and improving the efficiency of household appliances. As pioneers of the domestic heating market, Trianco have entered a new era of domestic heating, confidently rising to the challenge of renewable energy with it’s range of competitively priced Trianco Heat Pumps.

Air Source Trianco Heat Pumps are becoming an increasingly popular choice for home heating, especially in areas with less severe winters. But what makes it such a viable heating alternative, and how does it work? Quite simply, Trianco Air Source Heat Pumps have a motor powered by electricity that supplies more energy than it consumes, when it extracts heat from the surrounding air. For every unit of energy purchased as electricity, the Trianco Heat Pump produced several units of heat to be delivered, making it up to four times more effective.

A few weeks ago we told you about the changes to the BHL website (see the article here).  The feedback we have received from our customers about the new design has been very positive. But despite all the investment in time and money in the new website we still felt that the new website didnt offer the customer the best opportunity to find a product.

The BHL website is great for customers who know exactly what they are looking for, but perhaps not so good for customers visiting the website with a blank canvas. This is why we introduced a new feature which we have called Refine Your Search (RYS). RYS is a useful feature that enables our customers to narrow their search for products by simply responding to search criteria and therefore making the search more specific. This is the easiest way to narrow down search results. If you have a particular colour, size, model or manufacturer in mind, add that information to your search. RYS also enables products to be searched for by price.

Finding a Radiator

Central Heating Radiators come in a wide range of sizes and styles. Trying to find a specific radiator on most suppliers websites can be frustratingly time consuming. But on the BHL website customers can search for radiators by Brand, Colour, Material, Price, Height, Length, Model, Output and Style. For example, a customer looking for a specific central heating radiator, say a double radiator 600mm high with a length of 1400mm using the RYS facility will be presented with the following results.

Looking for a Combi Boiler

If you are in the market for a new Central Heating Boiler it is important that you buy the correct model for your home. BHL have tried to assist the buying process by introducing RYS. You can now search by Boiler type, Brand, Output and Efficiency. For example a customers looking for a Gas Fired, Sedbuk A Rated Combi Boiler with a domestic hot water flow rate of 16 litres per minute can choose from the following results.

Combi Boilers

Buying Central Heating Controls

There are hundreds of different Central Heating Controls all offering a whole host of features. Choosing the correct central heating control can improve efficiency and save you money on your fuel bills. The RYS feature on the BHL website will customers narrow their search for products, so for example if you are looking for a Digital, Wireless, Honeywell Room Thermostat then RYS will present you with these results.

We are looking to roll out this feature to all our products but in the meantime this feature is currently available on Boilers, Radiators, Central Heating Controls, Oil Storage Tanks, Gas Fires, Electric Suites, Electric Fires, Stoves, Electric Water Heaters, Hot Water Cylinders, Toilets, Wash Basins, Bathroom Suites, Showers, Baths, Shower Trays, Bathroom Taps, Water Treatment Products and some Pipe & Fittings.

We think that the new Refine Your Search feature coupled with industry leading features such as ‘Alternative Products’, ‘related Products’ and ‘Customers who bought also bought’ will ensure that shopping with BHL remains a safe, secure and easy experience.

The British countryside offers far more than rolling hills, red phone boxes, country cottages and quaint pubs. If you know where to look, you will find a sight as common in rural locations as pillar boxes and thathed roofs - domestic oil storage tanks.

Tucked away in the corner of gardens, behind well manicured hedge rows lies the humble oil storage tank – the life blood of rural central heating systems across our green and pleasant land.

100_1304_1

Traditionally oil storage tanks were made of steel. Nowadays oil storage tanks are mainly plastic, green in colour to blend in with their rural surroundings.

Oil Storage Tanks contain the fuel that feeds the thousands of oil boilers up and down dale. Oil central heating is more popular than you might think – 1.5 million homes use oil for heating and cooking in the UK. For those homes without access to mains gas, oil heating is an obvious choice. Oil heating is cheaper than LPG and cleaner than solid fuel.

Oil Tank Regulations

Stringent regulations regarding the installation and location of oil storage tanks have recently been introduced. Covered in the goverment’s building regulations include;

  1. Most new oil tanks should now be bunded and all oil tanks over 2,500 litres must be bunded.
  2. The correct positioning of tanks with emphasis on potential fire.
  3. The use of bunded oil tanks in locations where enviromental damage may occur in the event of oil spillage.
  4. A properly designed and constructed base to support the oil tank
  5. The correct installation of pipework between the tank appliance (boiler or cooker)
  6. Fire-shut-off-valve properly located and installed
